In search of the source of the Tay

Great to be out, and we did get to one of the sources according to the BBC

So didn't quite make the summit (about 400m short), or Coire Laoigh due to very slippy ice, but we did get to Coire Ghaorhaich which was most impressive.  As you can probably tell from the speed variation we cycled the first (and last) 3 miles.

The open road, and Ben Lui beginning to appear behind  the shoulder of Ben Oss.  Beinn Chuirn to the right.

There was some uphill on the way in, as you might expect.

Bikes abandoned miles back, starting the ascent.

A lot further still to go, given we can't even see the top behind the mist.

From Coire Ghaorhaich we got sight of the upper slopes, occaisonally.

Just about at the ridge.

Here we go.  Spot the slightly cooler icy conditions up here.

After another 100 yards or so we took the sensible decision not to slip off the ridge, and head back down instead.

Safely back down, a look back at where we had been.

Back to the bikes.  For the record Coire Laoigh is on the left.  Next time?
