Beinn Maol Chaluim

Second day in the hills of Glen Etive
After a good nights sleep on the other side of the glen I headed down the road to do this one.

Out of the woods, another lovely day.

Reasonable track some of the way up.

The col at the head of Gleann Fhaolain, with the back of Bidean Nam Bian that I attempted on the right.

Looking back from near the top of the col.

And the final ascent to the summit

Mair hills.

And part way up Bidean Nam Bian, before I turned back, to the North, Glen Coe, Loch Leven, and on the left Beinn a' Bheithir

Got a good bit up, and a view of Beinn Maol Chaluim

Glen Coe and Bidean nam Bain.  Doesn't look so steep from here.

Summit cairns, with a great view of Ben Starav on the left, Loch Etive, Beinn Trilleachan, Creach Bheinn (two Corbetts for another day), round to Beinn Sgulaird - so many hills.

And more Glen Coe and Bidean nam Bain

And from the right, Loch Etive, Ben Starav, and the other hills over that way.

Looking up Glen Etive, yesterday's hill (Beinn Mhic Chasgaig in the shadows of Creise)

View back along the ridge of Beinn Maol Chaluim, with that Bidean nam Bain on the right again.

Similar picture from ten minutes further along the ridge.

Better view of yesterday's hill (Beinn Mhic Chasgaig), under  Creise, to the right, with Buchalile Etive Mor to the middle, and Buchaille Beag to the left of that.

Interesting descent from the ridge.

Final Loch Etive view
